Structure & Programs
Harbor Health Services, Inc. administers three community health centers: the Geiger Gibson Community Health Center and the Neponset Health Center both located in Dorchester, and the Mid Upper Cape Community Health Center in Hyannis. In addition, Harbor Health administers the Elder Service Plan, a capitated care program for frail elders, the Dorchester-South Women, Infant, Children Nutrition Program (WIC) and the Ellen Jones Community Dental Center in Harwich.
Harbor Health is the only agency in Boston to administer two separately licensed Community Health Centers. Many of the health centers’ administrative functions such as accounting, payroll, information systems, and human resources, as well as some clinical services such as laboratory and HIV services, are administered centrally. This consolidation has enabled Harbor Health to manage costs by developing efficiencies and expertise, and by eliminating unnecessary duplication.
