Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program provides health education, healthy foods as well as referrals to other agencies. Pregnant women, postpartum women and children 0-5 years of age can participate in the WIC program (must be a Massachusetts family to qualify).
WIC is for all kinds of families: Married and single parents, working or the unemployed. Fathers, mothers, grandparents, foster parents or other legal guardians of a child under 5 can apply for WIC benefits. Please refer participants to one of our offices or ask them to call so we can screen for eligibility over the phone and schedule an appointment.
Breastfeeding Warmline: Please call us at (617) 533-2243 with your breastfeeding questions or concerns. A breastfeeding peer counselor will contact you within 24 hours.
Free Drop-In Mom‘s Group: The Mom group offers information and education about parenting and nutrition, breastfeeding support and the chance to connect with other moms. Every Friday 11:00 AM-12:30 PM at the WIC room, the Dorchester House Multi-Service Center, 1353 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, MA. For more information please call the WIC office at (617) 825-0805.
