Gardening Supplies
Geiger Gibson Community Health Center through funding provided by Olivia’s Organics, provides basic education in container gardening to teens. A Geiger Gibson staff nurse provides nutrition education to the participating Teens. There are many beneficial aspects of having a garden and growing plants, herbs and vegetables. Having house plants creates a better exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide which benefits patients with asthma; gardening is physical exercise. Growing lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers increases the likelihood of adding vegetables to ones diet. To help sustain this important project, donations of promotional materials, supplies such as seeds and planters, volunteers and even the use of a larger piece of land are greatly appreciated. For more information, please contact Director of Nursing (617) 288-1140.
