No one will be denied access to healthcare services based on inability to pay. Harbor Health offers help applying for health insurance. We also offer sliding fees for services and can work with you on a payment plan. Discounts are available based on family size and income.
How Do I Apply for Health Insurance?
You can find a certified application specialist who can assist with health insurance at all of our community health center locations. You can make an appointment with a specialist at the community health center most convenient to you. Find a location
Please bring the following documents to your appointment:
- Mass residency – ID or copy of mortgage, lease, homeowner’s insurance, utility bill
- Green card or US passport for each family member applying
- Social Security Card or number for each family member applying
- Email address and password or we will create one
- 2 recent pay stubs or 1099 or Social Security benefits
What Health Insurance Do You Take?
All Harbor Health community health centers accept MassHealth (Medicaid), Health Safety Net, and most commercial insurance plans. Please check with your insurance provider to make sure a Harbor Health community health center and provider is in-network.
Sliding Fee Scale Discount Program
At Harbor Health, we offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program to patients. Discounts are available based on family size and income. Simply call a location nearest to you to make an appointment with one of our counselors to apply for this program. If you or a member of your family currently has income, please bring these documents as proof of income.
If you currently have a bill that you are unable to pay, please call our billing department at 617-533-2370. We will help you set up a payment plan that fits your budget.
