Nutrition Program

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program provides nutrition and health education, healthy foods, breastfeeding support, and other services free of charge for Massachusetts families that qualify. Pregnant women, postpartum women, and children 0-5 years of age can participate in the WIC program.

WIC is for all kinds of families!

  • Married and single parents, working or the unemployed
  • Fathers, mothers, grandparents, foster parents or other legal guardians of a child under 5 can also apply for WIC benefits

Breastfeeding Services

  • Breastfeeding Warmline: Please call us at (617) 533-2243 with your breastfeeding questions or concerns. A breastfeeding peer counselor will contact you within 24 hours.
  • WIC offers a Mother-to-Mother breastfeeding program that connects specially trained WIC moms who have breast fed with new moms who need breastfeeding support.
  • WIC offers free monthly breastfeeding classes at Codman Square Health Center. The classes are the first and third Thursday of the month at 5:30 PM-6:30 PM.

Drop-In Groups and Events

Free Drop-In Vietnamese Moms Group

The Mom group offers information and education about parenting and nutrition, breastfeeding support and the chance to connect with other moms.

Free Community Baby Showers

Free and open to the community, all expecting parents are invited!

Meet kind and caring members of Harbor Health’s women’s health/OB-GYN, family medicine, pediatrics, and WIC teams.  They will offer practical information and answer your questions about pregnancy, labor and delivery, baby care, and more.
