Matter of Balance

Do you feel worried or shaky when walking or standing? Did you fall in the last year? Do you worry about falling? If you answered yes to any of those questions and are 65 years or older, you can take one of our Falls Prevention Classes: Matter of Balance.

It’s an eight-week program that teaches practical strategies to reduce your risk of falling. The workshop takes place in a group setting with other patients that also have a concern about falling. You will learn exercises to increase strength and balance and how to set goals for increasing activity. You will explore fears about falling and recognizing risks in your home and community. You may also qualify to have a Community Health Worker visit your home to help lower your chance of falling.
